Default aftermarket head unit in my 03

I have a 03 SSEi and I would like to upgrade the headunit something that supports mp3 cds and something with a build in sirius or xm. Any idea'* on what to get. Has anyone else upgraded it. And also are there any problems that would be caused my getting rid of the stock unit. Thanks.

The HU is a personal preference. You can go Single Din ot Double Din nav unit like I have..

check this post

you will lose door chimes and other chimes unless you get the right box oh and you will also need another unit if you wish to retain your steering wheel controls.

Yeah i was thinking a indash nav unit. One that is hd and has sirius. Ours fits double din? Cause if it does that is what i would like to get. And what box would i need to get to use the steering wheel controls? Also that link is just to the audio section not a particular post.

Search steering wheel controls in the audio section, you will find all kinds of things.

You will also loose your door chimes and other warning chimes unless you get another adapter. If you have OnStar, you will want to be sure to get an adapter that will keep that working. For both the adapters (steering wheel controls and chimes/OnStar) you can count on around $100 each and maybe more.

When looking for head units, keep in mind that may be limited room in the radio bay for wires and connectors. Changing head units can be a PITA.

If you have the appropriate skills and tools, you can fix the lights.
