will 6.5" components fit in the front doors or would the basket be too big.

IMO its definately worth the work. What a difference I noticed from 5 1/4 to 6.5

Beter sound.

I have 6.5" speakers in my doors too. and did NOT mount them to the door pannel. They are hidden completely behind the door panel. So it looks stock

Thats one real nice thing about how our windows are, they have that Fake vent windows ... it gives more room for bigger speakers
