3" Kicker L7. I want one - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

I never understood the craze about Kicker subs. Maybe its their exposure to common retail stores, but the simple truth is that when you dive into car audio and sub design, the Kicker square subs are horribly inefficient and poorly designed. There'* a reason why subwoofers have been made for many many years now and to my knowledge, not a single company but Kicker has used square ones. Not to mention the fact that they're horribly overpriced.

Cool little speaker nonetheless. I wonder what you'd use that for...

actually tons of companies have copied the design sense. Lanzar, MTX, Hifonics, Soundstream, Power Acoustic, ect. Im not a fan either. I have a few buddies running them and havent been to impressed. The other companies r just trying to cash in on the Craze. No matter what our opinions are people spend millions on em a year.

Never underestimate the power of uneducated/misinformed/gullible people in large quantities.
