Default 2004 Buick Park Avenue Tweeters Shorting

I have installed new JBL tweeters into my park avenue (basic 4 speaker + tweeter setup). I have also replaced all of the other speakers (polk) and the head unit (JVC) , but after two days of having the tweeters in, my drivers side shorts and quits working. So, after my third replacing my tweeters, I gave up. What is wrong with my car??

Sounds like every part has been replaced except the wiring, correct?

Not sure if the car has any issues at all. With new speakers and head end it would likely be the head end unit. You could check for crosses and shorts with a meter just to be safe.

Is there crossovers to begin with? How are the tweeters wired? Are they seperate, or integrated with the front drivers?

Just trying to get an idea on setup.

Yes, everything but the wiring has been replaced. No crossovers. I have the base 4-speaker system. The tweeters had a separate set of wires running to them through a connection but I removed the connection and manually attached the wires to the tweeters. They are completely separate from the front drivers.

I am confused. I am accustomed to the 4 speaker system, like what is in my PA. 2 full range speakers in the front dash, 2 full range speakers in the back dash. If you are running tweeters and they are receiving full range, then they will likely blow.

My regal has factory 6 speaker setup, which means full range in the back deck, and fullrange plus tweeter in the door. Hopefully someone can clarify the comfiguration. Also, please list the exact aftermarket equipment installed.

Are you using any crossovers between the deck and tweeters/front speakers?
