Just to make sure I understand correctly, you're talking about the climate control head below the radio?

Let me check my documentation and I'll see what I can find. It probably won't be until tomorrow though (Thursday).

Not sure if you've got this figured out yet. I didn't forget, it'* just been crazy busy for me lately. I'll try and have a look at this soon.

Looking over diagrams, if you connected to a BRN wire at location A8 you should be okay. This is the Ignition 3 signal. If you connected to an ORG wire at A14 you will have a problem. This is Battery Positive Voltage and is always live.

Well the car died again, so I went and bought a new battery from napa. It was great, the only place in town that had them for my car. Well picked it up last night, went to install tonight. Get the OEM one out go to put new one in, BAHHH vents on the battery are at the rear instead of at the front by the terminals. Go back to Napa, tell them what is happening. Their computer says, "Vent adapter required". So they check, no such thing exists in the store or in the system. So now I'm forced to buy another OEM battery from the factory. Good thing I know someone that works for GM, so now I can get a good battery for cheaper.
