Quick question but it wasn't glaringly obvious;
Is the motor grounded through the wiring or is it grounded through the bolts that hold the transmission to the firewall?

Awesome thanks.
I was talking to my step-dad about this problem and he said he'* had it happen a few times to him. The cause for him was that the bolts holding the transmission to the firewall got the grommets stuck in them and became ungrounded. I figured it'd be a long shot, but worth asking.
Also, new development. Now I can not even have the switch on, move the wipers, and they'll do a full wipe cycle. Almost sounds like a short to power.

So I fixed this problem yesterday for Nick. Now I get to publicly bash him
I pulled up the diagram and started going through the colors of the wires. 4 of them go to specific parts from the switch (3 to the motor, one to the fluid pump) so I knew it couldn't be any of those (nothing worked off the switch). That left the pink/black going to the DIM and the yellow going to the *drum roll* underhood fuse block, ACC 15A fuse. Yes his problem the entire time was a FUSE. He had checked the wiper motor fuse but not the accessory fuse.

Ya It helps to check ALL the fuses..been there...learned that.
It also helps to have a spare fuse kit in the car/learned that too!
