I would think that if you do the fix before it breaks, it will save a lot of trouble taking the regulator apart to fix it, and the extra support given by the bracket should help prevent the cable from pulling through.

Funny you should mention that.....that was one of my points in a recent pm to Archon!
Just have the beer (and the parts) ready for that inevitable day! I'm gonna do service calls now! My rates are 1 beer per mile travelling time plus labour!
