There was a post about simply raising the window up and then using a screw to hold up the window. I did that and it worked just fine until I got a new unit. If you have to send your old unit in, doing the screw trick might effect your core refund.

I had to replace three of my units. I got them all from window motor world on ebay.

Thanks for the links and diagrams. I am going to buy the Zebra one from E Bay. I don't really want to buy the used Bonneville regulator from Morad cuz I will probably end up with the same problem.

Just my impression from looking things over from the pictures posted. I'd recommend the one from Ed Morad. Not even considering that Ed (being a recognized vendor here) will not sell parts that are likely to fail in the near future, I'd go with the one that he is selling.

If you have read the techinfo article on the repair, you'll see where the cable pulls through the plastic on the sled. The one that Ed is selling, appears to be the newer design (maybe after-market - not sure) where that part (and much of the rest) is redesigned, and appears as if that weak part has been changed. I wish there was a larger picture of it.

The one from Zebra motors still has the same design, and in my opinion, worse yet they've swapped out the good, heavy duty motor, and metal gear assembly for what appears to be a cheaper design. The motors have not been an issue, so there would be no reason to change those.

That'* just my 2 cents worth based upon the pictures associated with each.

Edit - It appears as if the one from Zebra only gives you a 15 day return window, without mention of warranty. You may want to check that if you decide on them.

2000 Bonneville - What is the trick to removing the power connector from the "window regulator" ?? I've pulled and pried with no luck. I must be missiong something.

There is a tab on the connection that you have to lift up over a finger to pull it off. It'* there to hold the connection on so that it doesn't vibrate loose.
