How about having your local exhaust shop do a custom cat back. Local shop did a cat back with 2 1/2 piping for $60. Piping was aluminized. Mufflers are like $70-$90. Do a good cat back system for less than $250. Compared to a cat back system that cost $600 ill rather go with custom cat back. Just a thought

If you can find a shop that can do true mandrel bends, go for it.

I know its an old post but i just found it on here and I got some answers that might be helpful . I used a flowmaster series 40 muffler with 2.25 inch pipe. I used a ractive T-820( i believe thats the right number) stainless steel tip. The tip is kinda oval shaped.

Custom exhaust is the way to go its more costly but right now its all we got.

The 40 series muffler gives it a good, deep, rich sound. Anything but ricer sounding. I have heard the cars that sound ricer and this doesn't by any means.

I havent added the hi flow cat yet, but right now I got $175.00 in it labor and all. Just ask around before you agree to pay the first price quote you get. I found shops varying as much as a hundred bucks on doing mine.
