Default whats this power window issue??

Hey guys, I've been reading about issues about power window failure. I just got my car last week used with 32000 miles. I have no idea if my windows were repaired or not. My windows work great so far. What years are these failures more frequent? It seems like the 2000 model year is most common.

the cord that the windows travel up and down on snap without notice... you will be driving someday and one of the rear windows will just drop and not go back up... it is a VERY common problem and happens without any warning what so ever...

I havent had this problem . Yet. 45000 miles
so I was at the dealer for the fuel reg recall and asked him if he could look up my history
to see if the previous owner had them replaced. the answer was No.

hope I have one of the lucky ones

Haven't had any problems yet in the 3+ years & 70,000 miles I've owned this one, however the driver window makes one heck of a racket when lowering. It sounds like a roller coaster tractoring up the incline, a gear lashing sound very pronounced.

Not if you ask GM. I just replaced my SECOND one last week. I called GM about it and they said it was simply due to wear and tear. Mind you, I do not have kids and the rear windows are NEVER rolled down!!!

Rather than giving me a percentage of the repair costs, they offered me a $1000 rebate towards buying a new GM. Are you kidding me? I'll never buy a GM lemon again.
