Hey gang. I searched, but many of the helpful links point back to the old site and are not viewable.

My trunk now has the leaky trunk, right near where the latch goes. All I can surmise is that the trunk lid seals missing is the issue. Wheelwells are fine and the antenna is in the rear window. I don't see how else this could be happening. Any 200-2005 SLE owners out there who have a fix or the bet solution for this issue? If it is the trunk lid seals (going forward from the spoiler as you look at the rear of the car), where can I pick these up?

To help find the leak you can climb in to the trunk and close it, you will need a flash light. Then have someone spray water around and watch for a leak. Might want to make sure you have someone you trust outside.

You can check at local salvage yards to see if they have your year there, then go and remove it

Yeah, I have a daughter who loves me and will someday inherit this beauty. I'll have her join me in the experiment tomorrow.

If the seals are problem, they seem to be held on with a (what is now nasty gunk) adhesive. Will caulk work, or is something else recommended?

Go to a auto parts store and pick up weather stripping adhesive.

I would imagine just any sealant would work, but weather stripping adhesive might be best.

I was lazy, and I solved my problem by drilling 2 small holes in the rubber plugs at the bottom of the wheelwell.
