one guy said it is a pressure regulator, he said he would do it for 500 total (400 labor 100 part) does that seem to be a good price for that job or could i find better? And i have another guy who said he would look at it and do a "side job" hoping that he can give me a better price. Also what would it take if i were to do this myself?

I have a hard time believing a pressure regulator would cause the trans to shake when shifting in to drive. That really sounds like a bad trans mount. This might be a long shot, but it'* worth looking at. This is the torque converter solenoid switch. https://www.gmforum.com/t284972/

i'm going to take it to my buddys uncle and have him look at it (not telling him what the other guy said) and see what he comes up with. and if it is a torque converter solenoid switch, That seems likely to be the problem because i let my friend shift and stuff and he said it could be something with torque converter or something dealing with that, i looked at the link for the TCC and i will test that when i get a chance and get back with my results. Thank You

Mine would shift hard at times in to drive and reverse, as well as surging when in OD. I adjusted that switch and the surging is gone, and the shifting in to drive and reverse is much better.

Also, he said that all the mounts look good, after he replaced the motor mount twice, and i'm pretty sure that whatever is causing the shaking i messing up the motor mount, i think i need another one already and its been almost been two weeks since the second one was put in.

By pressure regulator, he must really mean the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solinoid, which has been a common problem with these transmissions.
In order to replace it, you must support the engine, drop the cradle and remove the side cover. $500.00 is not a bad deal to do it properly. JMHO.

I took the car to a few places today to get it looked at. First I took it to Holz/GM and they looked at what it was doing and said new trans, they said they would look at it for 200 so they could be sure on that, so i passed them up on that. They said they would put in a new trans for 3,000 some dollar close to what i payed for the car. Then I took it to the shop across the street, they have a guy that specialzes in transmissions and all that. He did a comple look at the engine and trans and also said it needs a new transmission.

I see trans all the time for sale around $300 or so. I have one in my shop I paid $125.
