If you don't have tools, and are not able to do the work yourself, $200 is not a bad price. I am glad you found the problem. Post a note when the mount is changed to tell us if your are satisfied with the outcome.
I got the mount replaced for the engine, but the engine and trans still shakes the car, the only problem fixed by the motor mount is the engine popping up when giving the car gas. Other wise when i shift from neuteral to reverse or to drive it still does it. Do you have any other ideas on what it could be? I plan on doing most of the work myself. The shop said it need tie rod ends and ball joints, rear shocks, and gas gage doesn't work, also added it could use tuneup, some of those i can do myself or have a buddy help, I don't know if any of those would cause the problem I currently have or not.

Did the guy that replaced the front mount look at all the other mounts?
Please put your car'* year and model into your signature line so members reading this thread understand what you are driving.

i have a 2000 ssei bonneville, honestly i don't think he did/I don't think he even tested the car after he "fixed" it. I called him back and he said come in monday and show me what your problem is. the first time i brought it in I specifically told him that the problem is when i'm shifting, and that wasn't fixed. The engine mount in the front was bad and was replaced but he didn't solve the problem i told him about.

He should have checked all the mounts so when he quoted the repair you had the entire picture. You need to get all the mounts checked. No gaurantee the problem is the mounts, but like any other repair, we start by ruling out the obvious.
I also have this problem with my 2002 sle that has 150k on it... Shifts in and out of park great when its cold, but once it'* warmed up forget it, and it shifts great while driving. It'* like taking my car out of park on a steep hill. My shop guy put new motor mounts on every mount in there and did a trans tune up... Didn't work. I have to assume the age of the vehicle is starting to show :( oh well. Good luck with it!
i hope thats not the issuse for me, because they replaced one motor mount, that didn't solve the problem completly, just stop shaking when accelerating, so it at the shop and they are trying to solve that now, he thinks the car is idling to fast, i don't think thats the case, i think it he needs the look over the rest of the mounts, because when i acceleate i can feel very slightly that the car takes a second or two to catch up with the engine when going faster. Hope they solve the shaking transmission, i can't stand everytime i shift to drive or reverse the car jerks. (the engine and trans shakes, popped open hood and you can see that when shifting the trans) I will get back to you on what happens with the car in the next day or so, hope they can solve it. if its not the mount i guess he could be right about the idleing speed, DANTHURS sent me a table on idling speed based on temp and gear and everything seem to be right to what the tables says. I'm not going to let this shaking go on because i'm afraid that i will do damage to to trans and engine if it continue to drive it like that for a long period of time. My car only has 123,600 miles on it and it'* a 2000 ssei hope to get it to 200,000 miles

LIke diagnosing most problems, it comes down to a process of elimination of all the likely suspects until the guilty party is found. Transmission mounts is the most likely suspect. If that'* not the issue, get the vehicle scanned for tranny codes. You will need someone with a Tech 2 scanner (dealer). A normal scanner will not read the tranny codes.
