If the PCM is programmed for the wrong gear ratio what kind of problem would I see if any? Also how do I tell what gear ratio I have just by looking at the tranny. I did a swap and I don't really know what it came with and I can't remember what the PCM was programmed for. It has been shifting a little funny and I was wondering if this would cause the problem or not.
you said your trans was out of a SC GTP Correct???
you should have the 2.93 for 4T65E(HD) or the 3.29'* that were optional in some of the GTP'*.....your SLE came stock with a 3.05 ratio
did you use your stock PCM or did you use one out of a Bonne or the GTP?

You know, The closer I looked at the engine I think that it came out of a Buick Regal */C. I had a PCM programmed from Intense, but I don't remember what the gear ratio was programmed for.

The PCM would have been coded for your VIN and your stock gear ratio (unless you asked for something else). An incorrect setting would set a 730 (incorrect gear ratio) code and cause the car to command maximum line pressure resulting in VERY hard shifts and burned up clutches within about a week.
