Transmissions just are not supposed to let go so early in their life. There is definitiely something going on with the transmissions in the 2000+ models.

Well the Gm rep called back today to tell me that due to the kilometres and that there was no warranty on the car they could not do anything for me. :( Oh well. Good thing i work in the automotive industry and there'* lots of overtime this weekend to pay for it even if it is the long weekend.
