Default ticking at high RPM

I hear a loud ticking in my 2000 SE at high rpm. Dealer says it is a cracked exhaust manifold

Choices are usually find a welder that can fix it, or replace with another.

It'* not that uncommon, unfortunately.

A good welding shop can weld it without warping it. Of course that means you have to take it off and put it back on...

The 92-95'* were much more common to crack. I think this is the first 96+ I have heard of cracking personally.
