Good looking intake, nice fab job 8)
Is that a K&N filter, or a K&N "style" filter?

Yes it is a K&N filter. It is the X-stream filter.
Also nice firebird 473.4 HP and 459.1 TQ. That things a monster!!!! Take it to the track ever?

Yes, I have only running 450rwhp on street tires I was trapping 119mph. I am in the process of changing the fuel system and upgrading supercharger hoping to reach my goal of 525-550rwhp and rwtq

Now wrap it up with some insulation to keep it even cooler. You woudl be surprised, on a hot summer day idling in traffic, how much it heats up inside that engine bay. Can you say 200*F
I will definintely look into that.

That intake looks nice.

Do you notice the difference from stock?
I also pulleyed up the car to 3.4 pulley so I could not tell you for sure. The 2 things I did notice was I don't have to give it much gas to get it going and you can really hear the supercharger now.

But I had a problem now I can hear the car detonating at WOT around 4500rpms. I will be changing my sparkplugs to one step cooler trying to take care of this.

Sorry for all the quote errors in my previous post it was the first time I tried using it.

Also, thanks a lot for all the compliments. I was very happy with the overall fit and finsh when I was done.

How can this be? The PCM will retard the timing to avoid knock long before you will ever hear it. :?
Are you sure it's detonation you are hearing :?:

I'm pretty sure it is detonating. I am going to test this by running 100 octane sometime this week.

Technically it would be pullyed DOWN but who is nit-picking...(me?)

As for the detonation if that is what you are hearing than there is majorly something wrong. Your PCM should pull timing long before you HEAR detonation. Do you have a scantool to check for sure?

I have a EFI Live for my Trans Am. Which I tried on the Bonneville but it doesn't seem to work. So, I figured my only other option is to run higher octane gas and see if I still hear that noise..

Take a long screwdriver, put 1 end to your valve covers and the other to your ear with a cupped hand. Move it along the valve cover and see if you hear loud or excessive ticking, could be a lifter, or a rod you hearing. Also with the intake you might be hearing the injectors a little more clearly. Can you describe when you hear the sound and what it sounds like?

It sounds like a ticking noise. Which only happens when I go WOT sometimes around 4500 to 5000 rpms. But you maybe right about me hearing more now that I put the CAI. I never really though about that.
