thermostat replacement question

thermostat replacement question
so i replaced my thermostat today. got it all apart and back together fine, except for one thing. i think.
is that valve in far enough? it wont go any further, thats why i ask.

bloody hell. theres no spot for just "maintenance". its an L67, so its not just 2000-2005. if anything, its probably either 96-2003 or 2000-2003, so 2000-2005 doesnt fit right. its not quite general chat, and blah blah blah. for all i know, it could even be 1992-2003 so all those forums would fit. i flipped a coin. my sincere apologies for putting this in the wrong place.

I agree, it looks to be in far enough, it'* bad to over-tighten and break those pieces off.... ohh man I can remember when i did that on my lumina....

The hole on my thermostat housing can always be seen, but when tighted, the hole is blocked inside.

That is a vent plug on top of the thermostat housing. Check it out when the engine is up to normal operating temperature. No leakage allowed.
