Hey guys...my car doesn't overheat or the temp does not flux but i am getting leakage from that area....i need insight and advice on whether its the gasket or the thermostat and i did change the hose alrdy...

Could be the thermostat gasket, or if it was tightened down too much the thermostat housing could be cracked. Change the gasket and check the housing while you have it apart.

Depends on how long ago you changed it. A thermostat is not something to upgrade, just replace it when it doesn't work. Some people on the forum suggest a 180*F theremostat, but I believe in sticking to the stock 195*. If you don't know when it was last changed, and if you are taking the housing off anyways, no harm in changing the thermostat.
The symptoms of a failed thermostat is your car will not heat up to normal operating temperatures during the winter. The thermostat stick open and coolant flows to the rad no matter what temp the engine is at.

Glad you got the problem figured out! Was it the spring style clamp? Have changed so many of those on the trucks due to corrosion and they break. Usually it'* the lower rad hose at the rad.
