I recently had my trans rebuilt and now I am noticing something that may or may not be a problem. This may be normal and I just have not noticed it before.
When I am driving on the highway (over 50 mph) and my RPMs are sitting at 2K, if I give it a very light acceloration, the RPMs quickly climb to 2.5K and then drop immediately back to 2K. If I let off the gas completely and coast, then give it light acceloration again, the RPMs will do the same thing (climb to 2.5K and then back to 2K).
Maybe I am just confused, but I thought if your TCC was in lockup, the RPMs should not increase with a light acceloration.
Is this normal, or does this rebuilt trans need to go back for some tweaks?

Seems normal to me, the TC is unlocking when you tap the throttle..so you have a bit more power to accelerate when you press the gas..

Thanks guys. I just did not notice it before. Maybe it is more pronounced with the new tranny. The shop told me that the rebuild was much tighter than the stock tranny, which makes for a quicker response, but I would also feel it more when it shifts.
The shop also told me that my front mount is bad and should be replaced, which will reduce the amount of movement I would feel. I could not find any oil or punctures on the mount, so I am not sure if it needs to be replaced or not. When I rock the car, I do see a lot of movement in the engine, but I do not know how much movement I should be seeing.
