Default strange noises coming from under the hood

Hey for the 2001
About a month ago i think i posted something about a clicking noise coming from my engine. well, it never went away and ive ignored it because the car runs fine. Well now im concerned because on my out to the mountains this weekend i got off the turnpike and heard a howling sound..like a massive air sucking in sound, but only at low speeds. the clicking is at low speeds too. Bonne runs fine still, never stopped running normal except for when my foot'* on the floor...the car like shakes when im trying to race first get my 1992 never shook at all. Fluids are all full, not over full either. Im stuck.

My pop whos owned a shop for 40+ years suggested its a possible drive axle problem, or transmission issue. When the car is in neutral, the clicking and howling goes away. the second i put it into gear...it sounds like a hound dog or something. just to describe the howling sound better.

any thoughts?

Does it make the noises only when moving or also when sitting still?

Does the new sound change with engine speed or vehicle speed, or does it remain constant regardless of either?

BillBoost37..it only makes the noise when i am moving and in gear. (i put it in neutral for 2 seconds and it immediatly went away)

willwren - the sounds both happen when the engine speed moves, not the car speed.
the "sucking air in" sound hasnt made any apperance today. i took it out for a drive on the highways around here, to recreate the same drive i made over the weekend, and again nothing but that clicking sound when the engine speed is around 1-3000 rpms

Is the sound more noticeable inside or outside the car?

Any noticeable extra "engine heat" near your feet?

I'd agree that Pop is probably right and it needs to be looked at further by Pops
