Steering Wheel noise
Intermediate Drive Shaft maybe? Somewhere on this board there is a topic about it... it should be covered by the Dealer if that'* the problem.
I had the same problem - like a clucking when you turned, which was the intermediate drive shaft and the dealer replaced it - I think it might be a recall item, but not sure on that...

Yep. I get the same thing on my '01 SSEi. Started about 1 month after my warranty ran out, at the 3 yr./36,000 mile mark. Mine "feels" like trying to turn a wooden peg in a tight wooden hole. Its not tough to turn, but it sure feels disarming. Kind of a light ratcheting feeling whether turning left or right. If I've been driving all day, seems to disappear as the day wears on.
Regarding GM "taking care of it" for you, it will cost you. There have been a few posts on this board indicating a Pontiac recall but I'm not holding my breath. I thought recalls were strictly for safety, and I don't know if this has been deemed by GM as a safety issue.
Anyone know for sure about the so-called recall?
