squeaky sound coming from car

I had a squeak coming from the front of my car that I finally traced down to the hood latch. I tried lubing and adjusting the latch, and the supports on the corners of the hood without quieting the noise. I finally just wrapped some electrical tape around the loop on the hood, and it'* been quiet ever since. Not exactly a high-tech repair, but it worked.
