They are cast aluminium. I've tried to clean with metal polish and get unsatisfactory results The interior surface is not smooth. I'm also open for suggestion.

Polish them and have them chrome-plated. Or simply paint them black with truck bed liner spray in a can (I did the spray). Stealth mode. The sleeper effect.
I'd love to see a chromed set. They'll clean easier that way.

I decided last night that I couldn't take the appearance any more now that the car is all Zaino shiny so I went out and used a wire wheel on them. At least for now, they look pretty decent and certainly much better than when they were blackened.
We'll see how long they stay that way.

Chrome factory tips would be nice though, very easy to clean too. When I had these corsa tips on my aurora, I'd wipe them clean all the time.
Still wondering if I should get them for my 01 ssei.....wonder what it would cost to get the oem tips dipped in chrome, any edumacted guesses?

Shine them up real good with a 1/4" drill and wire-wheel,..use some fine-grit heavy-duty sandpaper to get everything you can't get with the wheel,.....buy some clear hi-temp spraypaint and coat them with a few LIGHT coats,......after that all you'll have to do is wipe them out a bit with a damp cloth whenever they get blackened,or better yet, every time you wash your car

Use a rag dipped in a little bit of Laquer Thinner.......be real careful not to get any on the paint.
It cleans up real easy.
Corrosion can also be easily cleaned with fine sandpaper and metal polish.
