OK....We got this 2000 SSEi.....its a funny story too....when we went back this morning the salesman we talked to yesterday claimed that the price they had it listed at was $14,232.70...He tried to come off as my bestfriend about it too. I took some knowledge I picked up from here as well as a few numbers I got off NADA and KBB...I think I scared him a little lol...I told him that was way too rich for my blood but pointed out a few things he should know about the car so he could tell potential buyers (just recycleing stuff I read here lol) any way....he kept telling me how rare SSEi'* are in the northwest..and I was not going to get one any cheaper...I said well thems the breaks....cant afford it....he pulls us into his office...we talk.....he keeps running to the "big guy" eventualy we come to just under 12, which is not too bad considering blue book is right in the 12k neighborhood off a lot

Any way....awesome car...wife loves it and of course I do too....gonna see if I can figure out the digital camera....still need to get some pics of the 96 up here anyway....maybe if the weather is right I will have them up before the weekend

well once again great site and thanks for teaching me a thing or two.

LOL! That'* funny! I used to hate the used car trip...but now I find it almost fun...predictable, but fun. You are so right that you intimidate him by knowing more than he did... In most cases, they need to sell the car more so than you need to buy it. If you had time, you could have walked out the door and let him call you ...may have gotten it down another grand... Another trick is to go that last week of the month. They are usually anxious to reduce their inventory and liability levels before month end.

Congrats on the new member of the family!
