Default Shifter illumination

Are the P-R-N-D-1-2-3 on the shifter sonsole supposed to be illuminated, and if they are, is it just a bulb that needs replaced on mine? No lights for the recent memory.

usually there is one bulb that is diffused throughout the "gear pattern" on most other vehicles, unless there is an LED setup, it would just be a matter of pulling it off and changing a bulb

yes there is a small bulb that should illuminate the gear

you can pull the console apart and replace it, i dont know the bulb off hand but its a twist in type

is it a twist in? i thought it would have been a 74 or 68 push in type, but then again, ive been known to be wrong on occasion

I believe the bulb for 1992-1999 Bonnevilles is 558

CORRECTION: The 558 bulb is ONLY for 1993-1994 Bonnevilles. The technical term is NOT "shifter light" but Automatic Trans. Indicator Light.

Look at the date of posts when you open up a thread, this was back from 2008 and no longer relevant
