Default Service Stability System???

I have recently replaced my front wheel hubs, which includes the wheel speed sensors. After replacing these, everything worked fine for a couple weeks. Then for several days, my low traction light would flash on/off while just driving down the highway. The next symptom was that the anti-lock brakes would activate during normal braking (no wheel lockup). This would happen until I would get the 'Service Stability System' message, disabling the anti-lock brakes and traction control.

Now, I get the 'Service Stability System' message immediately upon starting the car (before the car moves).

I have checked the connections and added dielectric grease with no improvement.

Any suggestions?

I don't have a direct answer for your question, but you should post your year/trim as it will help others help you. Also, if you get the car scanned for codes (at any decent shop) it will tell you the specific nature of the problem.

The car is a 2000 Bonneville SSEI with 117,000 miles.

Moving to the 2000-2005 mechanical section. Please don't post mechanical problems in General Chat.

going out on a limb here, you know the rears are on the same system also, maybe a chance those are disconnected?

This has been discussed a few times. Try the search at the top ooif the page for what you posted, and also steering position sensor - the usual cause. Here'* an on-going thread.

ABS/Stability and traction codes are chassis codes and not powertrain. You will need a tool that can scan chassis codes and it will tell you which wss if faulty. Based on this info you can replace the hub at fault (either one of the rears or have one of the fronts replaced under warranty as you just bought them).
