Default Security Light Problem?

Hi All,

When it is cold out (like single digits or below zero, thats the part that sucks about Watertown, NY), the security light comes on and stays on when the vehicle is started. I never noticed the security light being on when its warmer out. I am afraid to shut the vehicle off at that point since I am afraid that the security system will kick in and the vehicle will not start. Is this a real problem and any ideas on what it would take to fix it? Thanks.

alot of times when its cold the Security light will illuminate, this happens on alot of different model years. The Theft deterent module for what ever reason dosent like the cold, and Illuminates the light. there also have been reports of "service theft system" in the DIC when this happens

I have had the same security system problem about a dozen times this winter- this appears to be fully cold weather related. Yesterday the air bag light came on. As the car warmed up and I shut the car off momentarily, the air bag light went away.

I have concluded that as the Bonny ages the sensors do not adapt well to the colder weather and that indications are a false sensor report, not a systems problem.

When my battery was low (before I replaced it), I noticed this a lot. It happened more when the mornings were colder too, so your CCA'* might be starting to drop.
