Default security light problem

i am having a problem with the security light when i insert the key the security light will blink and sometimes start right up other times it wont i got to sit wherever till it does, i was looking and found how to bypass the vats system and if the wires that i need to work with are in the orange covering then someone had already cut them and did something to them, i cleaned the key still got the same problem sometimes while driving the light will come on and then go out, had the car a couple years now and the problem just started 2 days after i replaced the sending unit haha. so what do i do now i would really appreciate help on this also the people that had it before had a remote car start put on as well.

If the car previously had a remote start (or still does) then the by-pass would have had to be done already. Is the remote start still on the car?

We need someone with some VATS experience. Sounds like you should have a resistor in there already if it has remote start.

Hopefully, the VATS champs will jump in here soon.

its a 92 se and it fixed itself. ha the thing that is confusing me is why if its bypassed it still needs the chip in the key. because there was a couple times the key was wet and it wouldnt start.
