I had a diagram from an auto repair site at my workplace and I can not match it up with ANYTHING under my hood. the picture doesnt look like anything there. so something i thought would be relatively easy is not. anyways, i just need to know where the thermostat would be located under the hood of a 01 bonneville. or just the general location and or what it would look like. thank you!

Looking at the engine from the front of the car, follow the hose coming off of the top right side of the radiator. It should attach to a small housing that is attached to the engine. In the following pic it is the hose going to the engine that is not attached to the throttle body.

it IS the hose? in the diagram it looked MUCH different, all you had to do was take off a few bolts to the housing and the thermostat was right there. but it didnt show it being inside a hose at all. my car is not supercharged or anything, just a regular ol bonnie, also.

You need to take the housing OFF then the thermostat is right there.

yes i understand that, but in the diagram the thermostat was in its own seperate housing, it wasnt inside of a hose or anything like that.

Oh yeah, sorry I didn't specify that when I put the pic up...

To be specific, it is not in or part of that hose. That hose attaches to a housing that you can not see until you remove the injector shield. Remove two bolts that hold that housing to the lower intake manifold, and you'll see the thermostat.
