Oh!!! so the female will set and affix to the door hole while already on the male post. I get it. But now I have to get the old female out of the door hole while prying the panel open. Hmmmm. I don't want to take the whole panel off again. I put it together with a couple of the clips broken. It still sucks.

Most of the clips will pull apart when you pull the panel off. It'* not that you can't re use them if they do separate they just wont hold nearly as well normally.
We use panel separators in the shop that makes getting them apart much easer, but you wont to be right under the clip or you can wind up breaking the door panel where the clip fits in.

It'* great that some members have been able to get these for free, and better yet, have their dealer stock them! Unfortunately, this isn't the case everywhere. I've had to order these at a cost of > $8.00/each and generally had to wait for stock to come from the US :?

For anyone who requires them, the part numbers are:

Short retainer: 25704141
Long retainer: 25707329

Wouldn't it be a sound idea to just nix the stockers and use some readily available nylon ones?

Or, is that a dumb idea?
