How do you take off the big dash piece around the radio? I found the website that tells me how to wire an aftermarket head unit with the antenna booster and permanent power source, but I dont know how to take the dash apart without wrecking it. I found the two tabs above the gauges but I broke one trying to pry it out with a screwdriver. Any help?

There are two push pin type retainers above the instrument cluster which can be a bit tricky to remove as you have learned. The bezel piece on the ignition has to be removed, it should snap out. From there it'* pretty much just work that whole piece out of the dash.

The two push-pin things are ingenious...just push the core IN, and the removethe rest of the 'grommit'. When you get ready to put them back in, you reset the core to sticking out. You HAVE to remove the ring around the ignition switch. Having the steering wheel adjusted all the way down helps quite a bit too.
Only two electrical connectors to worry about. The HUD and Trip Switches.
Good Luck.

There is the website, nicely detailed with good pics.
Thank you freddie for the advice on getting those pins out, that will help.
So do I just use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the ignition switch out? Or how did you guys do it?
