Default is the crankshaft sensor one piece or two piece?

is the crankshaft sensor for the 95 boneville a one piece or two piece? i was looking at a chilton manual and the picture shows a crankshaft sensor tool and and also a crank shaft position sensor, so are these two items sold separately? or do they come together when you buy them?

The tool is hard to come by. It aligns the sensor so the notched metal rings on the balancer that pass through it'* grooves don't make contact with it.

I've never heard of it. I didn't have any problems replacing my crank sensor without it though.

I put on a new crank sensor and new harmonic balancer on a 94 SSEi without the tool and had no problems with interference. Before putting the belt back on and cranking it up, see if you can turn the pulley a little and make sure you don't hear any interference.
