Default Reliability 2000 vs 2001 SSEi

I was on carsurvey.com, and under the year 2000, it seems like the bonneville had a TON of problems mainly with window regulators, wheel bearings, and interior quality. For 2001, I didn't see any problems like these.

Is the 2001 more reliable or pretty much the same? Thanks!

I would have to say 2000,2001 are pretty much the same. There were no design changes or improvements made that I'm aware of. They have their flaws & idiosynchrosies, but overall they are very good cars.

That'* true, Toast. 00, 01 are identical, no appearance differences. 02 brought new tail pipes (SSEi, SLE), new style wheels stock & new upgrade syle wheels to choose from, new style cupholder in center console to mention a few. The SE'* got some minor changes on the nose in the fascia area & license plate area I think also in 02.

NOT true! '00'* did not say Bonneville anywhere on the outside of the car besides the drivers headlight, the '01s and newer said it on the rear bumper. Some people don't pay attention close enough obviously. And you can always tell an early '00 SSEi because they don't have the Onstar antenna. The '00'* also got the flat centercaps on the 6 spoke wheels whereas the '01'* got the one with the middle that sticks out. I'm suprised Bill didn't know this....actually I'm amazed!

See rogue'* bumper here: (2000 ssei)

See taylor d'* bumper here: (2001 ssei)

Did you buy it used??? If it was in any sort of rear end accident the bumper could've easily been replaced with one for a newer car. I've yet to see an '00 that says bonneville on the bumper, just pontiac on the passenger side. Our SSEi is a late '00 and it definately does NOT say bonneville on the bumper, no other '00 SSEi that I've seen says it.
