Rear seat/ Rear deck Removal
Hello Everyone. My name is Alex. I'm new to the whole 'Forum' thing. I was wondering if I could get some help on this... I own a 2000 SE. Love everything about it, except the stereo system. I want to change the rear 6x9'* out for some aftermarket ones. But I can't find out how to get the backrest part of the back seat and the rear deck cover out! The butt-cushion was no problem... Am I blind? Maybe somone could lend me a hand?
Welcome to the "Club"!
I don't know if your SE is different than my SSEI, but on my car the rear speaker grills pop straight out. Replacement 6x9'* can be dropped in without having to remove the seat or the deck. Its a very easy job.
As an fyi, there is an Audio Forum elsewehere on BC that has lots of good stuff re stereo and speaker upgrades.

I have a 2000 SE & I'm not sure of the grill coming straight off. But it'* not
hard 2 remove that back seat.
after remove that buttom cushion
remove bolt in center of seat
then you'll need a flat head screwdriver 2 release the clips
behind the back cushion. ( I think there are 3 or 4 clips)
just pull the cushion foward a little & slide screwdriver hide
the cushion find the clips 2 release back custion.
then you have release the side molding from both sides of
the back window. ( it'* a push & side type thing )
then you have access 2 the 6X9'*
I hope this help! If you need more just holla!

Thanks Bear! That'* exactly what had to be done. Actually, I was doing it at the time you posted me! It went good. I even was energetic enough to change out the fronts and put in my component set. Thanks again!
