Default Rear Defogger & Radio Interference

Whenever I use the rear window defogger on my 2000 SSEi, I lose about 80% of my radio sensitivity. I assume this is a result of the defogger interfering with the integrated antenna in the rear window, but it still bugs me. Anyone else run into this?

I thought about adding an inline antenna booster. Has this worked for anybody??

Thanx

The integrated antenna is unique from 00 to 03. I haven't heard of this personally. I'd make sure if you use an antenna booster, that it'* rated for noise cancelling as well. I'd also try to re-route the antenna cable if you can. See if it'* coming into contact with anything else back there.

We've got a few 2k models around here. Jay, a couple 2000'* (the silver bullet twins), and a couple others.....anybody seen this yet?

I haven't experienced this problem at all.

You should take it in to the dealer. :o

I have not noticed anything like this either. To be honest, I have only had to use the rear defroster a few times. I would take it to the dealer and have it looked at. If they can't find anything, maybe try a high-end car audio shop. Their tech'* may be able to do some measurements on the related circuits.

i have seen a ton of problems with the integration modules on all GM cars. they have a tendancy to 'melt', and you either lose radio reception, or the defogger stops working, or given enough time, both go.
