Guess the 00 SSEi is mad 'cuz she has some new stablemates,
I've been bragging that my 2000 SSEi has had zero problems in 73,000 miles. Well today backing out of the garage the steering wheel gave off a strange popping sensation. I wouldn't have had a clue as to what it was if I hadn't been following this forum... sigh.
Guess she has to go into the shop for the first time in her life. Guess I'll have her battery replaced at the same time just 'cuz I've never even seen it... and six winters is pushing our luck.

the steering shaft problem is very common on alot of gm vehicles, if your mechanical at all it is really easy to do the grease kit, i just had my 2000 ssei in and figured they would grease it as well,{ id do it myself but its still under gm warranty}
they replaced the shaft with a updated shaft instead so i guess im good now,
