Default Programming a new key fob for a 2001 Bonny

Hi, does anyone know how to program a key fob for a 2001 SE? I am hoping to save some money by doing it myself.

Thanks for all your help.
I am a new owner and am very impressed with this site!

unfortunally you have to go to the dealer and have them program it.....they have to use the TECH 2

Welcome to our little corner of the world.

And like 1993 SLE said - unfortunately it'* a trip to the dealer for you to get it programmed unless you know someone or somplace else that has the Tech 2.

Chaddy, Is this a new transmitter (not oem) or did it come original with your car? Because if it'* oem and only needs a battery, you need not take it to the dealer for tech II programming, you just simply replace the battery.
