Default programing key fob

Sorry if you've addressed this a hundred times before, but I'm new here.

How can I reprogram 2002 Bonneville key fobs?

thanks

Dave

Welcome,

The 2000+ Bonneville key fobs can only be programmed using a Tech 2 scan tool. Generally, there are few shops other than GM dealers that have this. Unfortunately you're looking at a trip to your local dealer. Cost varies by dealer and some will actually do this without charge although most will assess some sort of fee.

Hope this helps

I replaced the battery in mine, and it quit working. All I did was put the key in the ignition and turn it to on, then held down the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for about 30 seconds. The doors locked and the lights flashed. Now the key fob works. This was for a 2000 SLE

This may solve the problem, but IIRC only when the key fob was previously set-up for the car and battery replacement is the only issue.
