Jim - thanks for the offer but I finally had time to dig into it and got it done. I agree that it is hard on the back and neck as you twist around inside the car. Thanks again for your offer of help.

This is not a new problem with the Bonnevilles. I had a 2000 SSEI and steering shaft was replaced at around 36,000 miles. Almost a year to the day of replacemnet problem came back, car was out of warantee so I simply lived with it. I now own a 2004 Bonneville GXP with 12,000 miles on it and believe it or not I have a steering shaft problem. Brought it in for service and they ordered a new steering shaft. The steering shafts are on nation wide backorder so I'm not the only 1 with the problem. I'm really glad I purchased the 100,000 mile extended warantee this time. I love the car just hope they can get the steering shaft problems corrected.
