Alrighty then.....I know I'm going to catch heck for posting this, but I need a refresher course on Tranny 101. Last night I took the time to search on transmission problems.

By the way, the search tool is broke..or it seems operator headspace cannot figure out how to navigate from a search topic.......then back to get the next topic that was in the search...I get a blank page error, I have to redo the search each time.

Anywho, after much reading and great info, I cannot find the problem I have described. We come close, but it is never exactly what I experience.

I have the now famous "it doesn't find a gear on slight peddle pressure out on the highway" problem. I'm cruising along at about 65 and I pull out to pass a car in no real hurry. The transmission can't decide if it should downshift or stay in overdrive. I end up in a repeatitive cycle of upshift downshift, but I can make it stop by given er the onion or backing off.

This does not mean to me it is the tork converter shutter as described in other threads. It is more like a problem with the puter or sensor of some sort. Is there a bulliten that might refer to this issue which would simply require a software upgrade from the stealership? Or, is this really the shudder problem and I'm just not understanding it? Thanks for any insight
