Radio Bulb Out
Well on my way to my interview today half of my radio display went out (left side). Is there a bulb inside that I can get at to replace? If so, how to I go about taking out the radio? Do I have to take out the whole dash or just the ring around the radio/Climate Control? Also, if i take it out and put it back in will it still work or will i need the code?
Thanks!
Thanks!

theres a writeup here somewhere, you take the trim from around the CC, radio, and gauges off then pull out the radio, take it apart, desolder the bad bulb and solder a new one in
no complaint from the radio when you put it back in since it came out of your car

alright I'll see if I can find the write up for it. Maybe this will give me a good excuse to put an aftermarket radio in there since i'm tearing it out anyway.
Thanks a bunch!!

Both those jobs are about euqally as hard, and the aftemarket HU will cost a pretty penny since if you want to keep the warning chimes you need a $50 part and if you want to keep steering wheel controls you are looking at another $70 then when you go to put the new HU in you usually need to hack apart the back of the dash so it will be deep enough to fit
I'm not saying don't do it beacuse myself and a lot of members have but just giving warning about how much of a pain it was, I walked away with a bunch of bloody knuckles

Contact MIKE1995. He sent me pics on what to look for when removing my radio and replacing the bulb. Bulb was $12 on ebay. I went to the local junk yard and nabbed one. Hope this helps!
