hello out there heres the thing im looking at a 2000 ssei 100,000 miles got a mis fire code cyl 1, and i have white smoke coming out exhaust thinking more than likely head gasket but is there anything out of the ordenary with the ssei that could cause me a bigger headace

Hello , im looking at a 2000 ssei white smoke comeing out exhaust head gasket right or are these cars known for something else that causes this ,also mis fire code for cyl 1

Not likely the head gasket, they just don't go out. Pull the plug and inspect it. The plug may be fowled, the wire may be bad, that coil may be bad but that generally makes 2 cylinders fail. Could be a bad injector in that cylinder

Does the white smoke have a sweet smell to it like Glycol? That would be your indication that the head gasket has gone South, but not likely in these cars. There is always the possibility of a LIM gasket failure. Not a difficult job to do if you have some experience with tools and the time.

LIM stands for Lower Intake Manifold. These are located under your supercharger. Our cars are notorious for these going out based on their weak design.

Do you see coolant on the top of the engine around the supercharger? What does the oil look like?

Ah you beat me to it my brain started hurting yes lower intake gasket LIM . Im a ok shade tree mechanic .usaly dont work on this stuff though manly because wife is in it .less agravation to pay someone .and stick to my scout 2

cant answer about coolant around supercharger have not seen car yet ,information i have is from current owner
