Is it the ABS maybe? I remember when one of my wheel speed sensors was dying, it would do something kinda like that.

Well, I certainly don't have any ABS lights on. I've got the Service Stability Alert, but thats the Steering Wheel Sensor. I'm having some new tires put on Monday. I'm gonna have them look over everything again to see what if anything is wrong. Drove it all day today and didn't have any trouble. Though when it comes to heavy cars, having reliable brakes is an absoulte necessity.

I didn't have the light on either until it started actually not letting me stop sometimes. So I unplugged the dying wheel speed sensor and was done with it. Unplug one and see what happens.

I'd agree with John that you try disconnecting one of the wheel speed sensors and see what happens. Does the "stability system active" notice ever come up?

No, never seen Stability Active. Been getting a lot of the LOW TRAC light coming on, but thats because its raining every day now and my front tires are almost bald. I'll disconnect one of the sensors and see what happens. Could getting a scan be useful also?

From the way things are sounding, it appears as if your stabilitrak system is causing your problem. The wheel speed sensors are just one part of the system, which also includes the steering position sensor. Getting it scanned, and replacing the defective part will likely solve your problem.
