Inspect for proper operation of the brake lamps.
Inspect throttle linkage for mechanical binding which could cause the system to malfunction.
Inspect cruise control adjustment, should have minimum slack.
When an over / undercharged battery condition DOES NOT exist.

Check if the cruise cable stays attached to the throttle body?
Mine keeps falling off, no mater how many times I adjust it, when I go to use it, dosen't work, pop the hood and it'* off the post again, need to keep messing with it, I'll have to come up with something.
Side note, at B-fest I looked at Todd'* 00 and his cruse connector was bigger than what'* on my 01. I had the parts guy look it up for me and both came up the same, and can't get just the connector, it'* attached to the cable and was $28 if I remember correctly. Not planning on getting it, just need to rig something up that will let it pivot.
