A New Rattle
Okay, so I realize any car with over 100k is going to have some rattles and squeaks and I've grown acustom to the ones I already have, however, a new one has popped up that really makes driving unpleasant. It seems to be coming from deep inside the dash - passenger side near the windshield. It sounds a lot like the rattle of a license plate on a car with a big sound system. Its VERY loud and reacts to everything from dumpy roads to increased stereo volume. I know its nothing in the glove box or the glove box door. The only things that has changed recently is that its been spending more time in direct sunlight (I usually have it parked in garages everywhere I go), not sure if that matters but I thought I would mention it. Anyone have any thoughts?

RIP
True Car Nut
A friend'* 00 SSEi had a similar noise. I found that pressing against the dash right up by the windshield a bit right of center quieted it down. If that'* the problem, my cheap, low tech solution was to cut a strip of rubber off an old wiper blade, fold it over, and stuff it between the dash and the windshield. Don't push it down too far, if you go this route, or it will push through.
If you look for it, you can see it but it is rather unobtrusive as it sort of blends in with the black trim on the bottom of the windshield.

Thanks guys, I'll check the visor and play some with the dash...I just need someone to drive while I mess with things on the road. I'll let you know how it works out.
