You and me both, I'm know to have a heavy foot. During the Winter and the remote start my avg 16mpg goes to 13mpgs, oh well, If I cared alot about Gas mileage I wouldn't of bought an ssei.

OH, well i haven't changed the fuel filter yet, i bought it a while ago, just haven't put it in. and, i changed the pcv valve and all that, but well i guess it is good then! it'* combined driving, and ummmm yeah... i pretty much cruise around 80-90 75 if i'm in deep thought. so i guess i can't complain! i just bought it, but i was thinking about selling it. i like the car and all, but it'* a little TOO base model for me. for the right price i'd let that thing go and get another one! (not SSEI) i'd like an upgraded one that'* not supercharged. i want this car for daily driving so i want the best MPG i can get out of it!

I get up to 34mpg highway with mine, about 22 in city, average about 26 with 50/50 cty/hwy. The rockers, intake, and headers really let the engine breathe though so its more efficient. As long as I keep my foot out of the gas, it does pretty well.

The warm up cycle is the killer. I have gone down a hill on a cold start, foot off the gas and the DIC reading only 16mpg.
My wife drives our Caravan about 1.5 miles to school and in the winter, only gets 11-12 mpg. EPA rating for town driving is 19 and on the road is 24. We actually get 24-25 on the highway so the fact that she only gets 11-12 means the warm up cylce is what is dragging it down.
Since the SE was rated at 19/29, a mix of driving would be expected to get you around 22 but if you take a highway trip, you should easily see 28-30 if you keep it under 75mph.

What fun is that? It'll take forever to get where I'm going.
I can't wait for my Rockers and headers to go on, for the gas milleage reasons of course only.

Damn!! I wasn't planning on doing rockers as they are little more than I'd like to spend, but then again, if they help to improve the MPG by over 1-2 mpg when hitting the freeway and helping with the low end (and top end) power in town I may just have to add those to my list right after the custom ECM and water/alcohol injection.
