My Bonnie is now almost 8 years old and I've only had it about a year now. But I've noticed that my car doesn't take the road like it should. Everytime I hit the teeniest ripple in the pavement (here in Edmonton, every 4 feet), instead of smoothly riding over them, my car slams on them. I'm not sure what the problem actually is, whther it'* the struts or what have you, but do you guys have the same problem? And what part is it and what should I do to fix/replace it?
Seeing as it'* fairly old now, I figure it'* time to replace SOMEthing down there.

with 20 inch rims on low profile tires it will probably be a bit bumpy anyway . The suspension probably needs work if the car has 100K+ miles on it. I'm no expert on the subject but if the suspension is what is bad it will probably be visibly damaged-looking.

As mentioned the rims aren't helping you.

Most likely your struts are bad. Were you looking to add some performance struts to the car?

It'* not the rims because I took them off for the winter 3 weeks ago.
For now it'* the stock rims with winter tires.
But I was assuming it was the struts.
I want good ones but I don't want like a top of the line set.

Check your ride height to start. The level control sometimes goes bad, and inflates the rear shocks all the way. That can make for a very stiff ride, and poor handling. If that is not the case, and you have a good alignment then your shocks (not struts) likely need to be replaced. There aren't a lot of options available, but one of the better choices is the Monroe shocks. I just checked this week, and RockAuto has them for about $62 a set.

Ok well how can I check the level control system?

Is the back end up too high? If it is, try removing one of the air lines and see if it goes down. The common cause is the leveling control attached to the rear control arm going bad. If it'* not too high - it'* probably not the problem.
