why do i find two p/n'* for the MAF on my 2000 SSEi (AC DELCO 213-1617 and 231-342. what is the difference between the two? is one better than the other?

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it'* the difference in the number of pins of the MAF sensor/connector.

Hmmmm.....don't know. This is what I show for the GM part number, and it lists only one.

. Mass Air Flow Sensor

Yeah...they are not cheap. That'* why the warnings to be very careful not to break the wires while cleaning. Obviously, they can be found for a cheaper price than at the dealer, but never what would be considered inexpensive.

OK - I was hoping that the GM part number would give an answer toward what AC-Delco part number would cross reference with it. So, I went to the AC-Delco site and with that GM number it crossed with 213-1617. Hope that helps.

Glad to help out...and I hear what you're saying. I hate when I get the wrong part locally...worse when it'* mail order. BTW - the same AC part number does apply to the remans, also.
