I assume when you lower, you will be correcting the camber and such as necessary?

definately should be... one the strut bolts are loosened, an alignment is required.

I've seen cars lowered too much for the bolt adjustment to take the slack. Sometimes I think a custom kit is required. Not sure how much would be possible.

usually camber adjustment kits are just a new set of bolts with a more offset cam, to offer a higher degree of adjustment, sometimes the bolt slots need to be re-notched to help bring the camber fully into spec aswell
